Welcome all of you to Le Thuy and visit a historical pagoda and beautiful pagoda. It is by Kien Giang river, the hometown of general Vo Nguyen Giap. It is located in An Xa village, Loc Thuy commune, Le Thuy district.
An Xa pagoda was built in 1990. At this pagoda, the conference of party committees of Quang Binh province was hold on July 2nd. It was a preparation about all fields for the general uprising to taking the power in August , 1945 in Quang Binh province. In the resistance war against French colonialism (from 1945 to 1954) and American empire (from1954 to 1075), An Xa pagoda is a place where revolutionary fighters met. The pagoda was injured very much because the enemies flew helicopters and dropped bombs.
At the time of peace, it was repaired by the people and the power of An Xa village as its initial design.

When general Vo Nguyen Giap came back his hometown, he spent time enjoying the scenery of the pagoda. In 1999, he himself grew a banyan tree in the yard of the pagoda.
When he died, the people here hung many pieces of black cloth in the tree to show their love to the general.
On the right of the
pagoda, there is a coconut tree. It was grown 60 years ago by old people. In
1994, the coconut tree divided into two branches naturally. It was V letter. V
begins from Van and Vo words. Van is knowledge and Vo is military. People
believed that it’s a symbol of Vo Nguyen Giap, a hero of their hometown. He was
good at both knowledge and military.
An Xa pagoda was
recognized as a historical monument at national level on December 2nd,
1992.
Now,
The pagoda still keeps its historical value and many tourists come to visit.
